Hey you! Yes you! Did you see it?
On the 23rd of May at 7PM (8PM est time) the world tuned in to see history in the making as two great Jamaican legends clashed in-person showing out with tune after tune for the listeners and die -hard Jamaican dancehall fans. Imagine it: The vibes? Friendly and intense. Our favourite songs and lyrics? Hitting the dance bones I ‘m sure we all have somewhere in our body, and of course camaraderie between once enemies simmer into a warm and cultural atmosphere.
I know I’ve been quarantining so my body ain’t what it used to be with them snacks, but, I danced sooooo hard.
Jamaica was once again placed on a huge platform bringing the IG page VerzuzTV (created by artistes and producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland) to an impressive 1 Million IG users within less than 24 hours. Verzuz Tv is a clash playground for artiste where the likes of Ludacris, Erykah Badu, Nelly, Babyface, Teddy Riley, Jill Scott and other rappers and singers battle against each other with their collection of sung songs amassed over the years.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Jamaica party if the police didn’t come by to stop the best (if I do say so myself) virtual event to ever grace Instagram’s LIVE.
